Lance Cade and 5 Other Wrestlers Who Left Us Too Soon

Lance Cade, which is the name he used when he wrestled, was a wrestler in WWE, like the ones you see on TV. He died when he was 29 because his heart stopped working due to taking too many drugs by mistake.

How Lance Cade Passed Away

Lance Cade, who was a wrestler, died on August 13, 2010, in San Antonio, Texas. The doctors said his heart stopped working. Later, they found out he died because he took too many drugs by mistake, and these drugs caused problems in his heart.

About Lance Cade

In his wrestling career, Lance Cade used different names like Lance and Garrison Cade. He was born on March 2, 1981, in Caroll, Iowa. He started wrestling in 1999 when he was at the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy in San Antonio, Texas.

In December of the same year, Cade went to Japan and worked with a partner in tag team matches. Not long after that, he joined the World Wrestling Foundation (WWF), which later became the WWE.

WWE

Lance Cade was a wrestler in WWE. He had many matches where he teamed up with other wrestlers. He also wrestled in a place called Ohio Valley Wrestling before teaming up with another wrestler, Mark Jindrak.

One time, in a match called the Tag-Team Turmoil Match, Jindrak and Cade went up against the Dudley Boyz and Ric Flair. However, Jindrak later had to go to a different wrestling show called Smackdown.

In 2004, Cade hurt his knee, and this was shown on TV. After he got better and came back to wrestling, he teamed up with Trevor Murdoch to be a tag team.

Achievements and Championships

During the 2000s, Lance Cade got a lot of awards and titles. One of the most important ones was when he became the World Tag Team Champion three times with his partner Trevor Murdoch. They were known as Cade and Murdoch, and they fought against strong opponents like Triple H and Vince McMahon.

Because he won these matches, Cade became really famous, like other wrestling stars such as Chris Benoit, the Undertaker, and Eddie Guerrero. In 2008, he joined Chris Jericho, and this added a new twist to his wrestling story.

Sadly, in October 2008, he was let go by WWE, but he started appearing in NWA Showcase. In early 2009, Cade went to Japan again and had a big match against Akebono. People in the wrestling world still remember him, and he wrestled in All Japan Pro Wrestling.

Lance Cade’s Struggles with Drugs and Rehab

While Lance Cade was a wrestler in 2008, he had a scary moment on a plane when he had a seizure. He needed urgent help because he was taking too many prescription drugs. This made WWE let him go.

In January 2010, Cade went to a rehab program to try to get better. He even finished a 30-day treatment program in February. However, sadly, a few months later, he started using drugs again. This led to an accident where he took too many different drugs, and he died when he was 29.

After Cade passed away, people started talking about how harmful wrestling can be on the body. They compared it to the National Football League (NFL) because of all the head injuries and other injuries wrestlers can get.

One of the saddest stories in pro wrestling was about Chris Benoit.

In June 2007, they found the bodies of his wife and his little son. A bible was found near them.

It seems Benoit harmed them and then took his own life by hanging.

Some reports later said that Benoit might have had brain damage from getting hit in the head during his wrestling matches.

Later, he had fights with different partners and even on his own.

In May 1999, during a match for the Intercontinental title against a wrestler named “The Godfather,” Hart fell to his death when the safety equipment that was supposed to keep him safe let him go, and he dropped 80 feet. He had just turned 34 a few weeks before that happened.
